At Blossom Nursery and Blossom Village, Our approach emphasizes children’s character development with particular attention given to early literacy by using the letter-land phonics program, daily story-time, word walls and topical curriculum and planning that expose children to books and reading materials. Our children paint, make models, investigate, play games and make puzzles – but are also exposed to the real world around them. This means we recycle, compost, plant seeds and look after our surroundings.
Our Smartbook™ parent interaction program ensures parents are kept informed of activities and learning done whilst at school through emailed newsletters, individual detailed profiles, baseline assessments and reports with parent-teacher days. We have an open door policy and parents are frequently invited to attend seminars, school shows and activities.
Healthy snacks and hot lunches are included for all children. Encouraging children to eat together helps them to develop healthy dietary habits and understand the practice of good eating. We teach children about the Balance of Health and the Food Pyramid, we serve water (a.k.a. Skyjuice) and even have our own cooking classes where children make cupcakes, fruit kebabs, mini pizzas and orange juice! Our healthy menu contains little salt and little sugar and has been made up of recipes from “Annabel Karmel”, “Jamie Oliver”, “The Sneaky Chef” and “Immunity Foods for Children” among many others being used.
Blossom caters to working parents and we wish to ensure that children who remain with us all day are getting the best of care available. We have individual cot beds and air mattresses at each centre so children can rest comfortably without having to nap on floors. We also have a full-time nurse at each centre and staff are pediatric first aid trained.
Blossom is open All Year. Our Peak Nursery is from 8-1pm and we also have Pick up options of 3pm, 5pm or 6pm. There is an Earlybird start available at 7:30am where Breakfast Express can be added. Skillplay™ afternoons from 2:30-6pm are teacher led programs that incorporate creative dance, cookery, drama, music, sport, mad science and computers.
