Blossom Nursery always strives to create a safe and stimulating environment and encourages children to make choices that are healthy and safe.
Here are some ways we do this in the classrooms –
Incorporating safety as a topic into our academic planning
Visual aids within the nursery to promote safety such as emergency exit signs
Role play activities focused on road safety and stranger danger
Organizing monthly fire and earth quake drills
and Planning an entire Blossom Safety Week so we can really get into the essence of being safe
Heres how you can incorporate Safety Week at home –
Encourage your child to rehearse their full name, parents names, number and address if possible. You can even stitch your home phone number inside your childs school bag or lunch box.
Know that 999, 998, 997 are emergency numbers have them posted in clear visibility. You can stop by any Blossom branch and pick up a complimentary safety magnet for your fridge!
Discuss the topic of strangers and which ones we can talk to. Great hint people with name badges like Blossom Teachers are good strangers and we can talk to any of them and ask for help.
Practicing proper door and gate closing at home and at nursery.
Remember, children learn
Children are inquisitive, and we love them because of it. At Blossom we encourage discovery as often..
